Hughes Growth Strategies, LLC (HGS) was created to advise boutique, independent and national wealth advisory firms who serve ultra-high net worth families and family offices. We provide proven growth strategies to our clients, helping these firms to better manage information, people and processes, while providing "just in time" coaching for optimizing success. We’ve created through years of hand on experience, brand differentiation, messaging that resonates, and business development systems, processes and tools that we will customize for your firm. HGS also provides business development training and workshops for advisors looking to improve their organic growth results. We know business development is not for everyone – but we can help with that.

BRIAN HUGHES - President & Founder

 

Hughes Growth Strategies was founded by 30 year industry veteran Brian Hughes. Through his work as an advisor, consultant, business leader and former CEO, Mr. Hughes has developed a national network of professional relationships with the top family wealth advisors and family office service providers. They range from trust & estate and business lawyers, tax and wealth transfer specialists, family business and family systems consultants, educators, philanthropic, risk management, and household management advisors and family office service providers. 

Prior to founding Hughes Growth Strategies, Hughes served as managing director of strategic relationships at the Threshold Group. Prior to his role at Threshold, Mr. Hughes was Managing Director for Pitcairn in Philadelphia and led their business development efforts on a global basis. He also spent 15 years with Lincoln Financial Advisors, including leading their fee-based financial planning firm in St. Louis, Missouri as Regional CEO.

Brian has been a sought after industry keynote and speaker, sharing industry best practices and his knowledge of the family office space.  He has appeared on the agenda at programs such as the Family Wealth Alliance Forums, Schwab Impact, Institute for Private Investors,  CFA Society of Philadelphia, Private Asset Magazine, Impact Capitalism Summit, the Family Firm Institute, and is the current Chairman of the Southeastern Family Office Forum in Atlanta, Georgia.

Brian Hughes

Brian works exclusively in the family office and family wealth advisory industry focusing on business development best practices. Working with boutique, independent and national firms, he works to improve their results, focusing on lead generation and lead conversion strategies, as well as pipeline and people management. He developed the HGS Client Acquisition Operations Manual, which was created with over 20 years of practical implementation working with dozens of firms and hundreds of affluent families. Brian has coached and mentored hundreds of successful CEO's and advisors on business development and growth. Brian is a graduate of the Wharton Private Wealth Management program and received is BS in Marketing and Economics from the University of Tampa. He resides in a Philadelphia suburb with his wife Carey and two young children.

Gregory Roll

With more than 20 years of experience in the family office and wealth management space, Gregory has created, built and evolved brands—conveying strategic vision through compelling storytelling. He speaks to business needs, while inspiring creative innovation with storied wealth management clients, such as Offit Capital and Pitcairn. He focuses on key milestones of clients’ sales and relationship timelines to strengthen and grow the business—always seeking to conceive and promote an authentic, differentiated brand for them in the marketplace. He focused on Increasing brand awareness, creating brand differentiation and delivering brand performance for leading family office and RIA business, such as Badgley Phelps and The Presidio Group, as well as worked with lift-outs groups seeking their independence from private banks, such as Luminous Capital. Gregory earned a BFA from The Cooper Union and MPS from New York University. He and his wife Kate have two young children and reside just North of Manhattan, in Pelham Manor, NY.
